Embassy of Pakistan Belgrade Celebrates 80th Independence Day and 150th Birth Anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah

To mark the 80th Independence Day of Pakistan and the 150th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the Embassy of Pakistan hosted a reception in Belgrade.

The event brought together senior officials of the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassadors and diplomats from a wide range of countries, representatives of international organisations, members of the Serbian media, academia and members of the Pakistani community in Serbia, reflecting the warmth of Pakistan's friendship with Serbia and the international community in Belgrade. Mr Damjan Jović, State Secretary at the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.

In his address, Ambassador of Pakistan Syed Faraz Hussain Zaidi paid tribute to the life and vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, recalling his leadership in the creation of Pakistan and his vision of a progressive and inclusive nation. He highlighted Pakistan's achievements over the past eight decades and reaffirmed the strong and growing ties of friendship between Pakistan and Serbia. He also thanked the Guest of Honour and the distinguished guests for joining the celebrations, noting the depth of Pakistan-Serbia relations reflected in their presence.

The reception provided an opportunity for the diplomatic community and Serbian friends of Pakistan to join in the celebrations and reflect on the enduring legacy of the Quaid-e-Azam, whose vision continues to guide the Pakistani nation.

Embassy of Pakistan in Belgrade held a dignified flag hoisting ceremony to commemorate the 80th Independence Day of Pakistan.

This year the Embassy also marked the 150th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. It was highlighted that it was his vision and steadfast leadership that led to the creation of Pakistan for the Muslims of the subcontinent.

During the ceremony, messages from the leadership were also read out to the participants, followed by a cake cutting.

Ambassador Faraz Zaidi hosted a luncheon in honour of H.E. Mr. Edin Đerlek, Vice-President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, at the Pakistan house in Belgrade today.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss ways of strengthening parliamentary and bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Serbia, along with matters of mutual interest. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further deepening the friendly relations between the two countries.
