Below you will find a little description about our farm and our volunteering program:
We will be working and living on a beautiful 20 acre property in the green hills in Pavones, Costa Rica, a 20 minute walk to the beach, with many a gorgeous waterfall on-site. The property is an early-stage farm, with some mature fruit trees, bamboo and rich jungle canapy, hosting 3 types of monkeys and so many b
irds! We are working on planting/sprouting organic food, and fruit trees, and reforesting. Also harvesting, gathering natural building materials for sustainable building. We are looking for self responsible individuals who are willing to contribute, co-create(beautiful and intentional spaces, and gardens),share their skills/knowledge, learn some new skills, meet new lifelong friends, have a positive impact on the land and community, and enjoy! Help needed: Shared responsibility for starting morning kitchen fire for herb tea and the days' meal, working in the plant nursery and gardens (watering, sprouting, transplanting, digging!) Sustainibly harvesting wood, and building accomodations (for people, or chickens, or worms, :)
Working on a sustainable design for the farm, and developing and practicing a functional Permaculture system. Gardening, general maintainance, (firewood, getting drinking water from the spring, keeping the shared spaces tidy, maintaining in-place systems) tree planting, trail making, and natural style building and earthen ovens. Teaching english. Soil building! compost!!!! Let's Contribute,be responsable and create (20-30 hours per week). The accommodations are rustic, but constantly being improved upon. There are currently beds for 3, in an open-air, roofed wooden structure with lots of space for tents on the land also. There is a covered outdoor kitchen where we cook with wood, and give thanks for the abundance the earth offers! We do not have wi-fi at this time, but the internet availiblity is through Kolbi/ICE, and can be accessed by most modern cell phones. We are asking for a 50 dollar contribution for the first week to cover a few basic costs. We mostly do a community based daily meal, where each person contributes by providing and preparing at least a part of the meal, or we rotate meals and clean-up. Please only bring biodegradable products onto the land (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, bug spray etc.) hope to see you soon !! These are some of the workshops we offer at times:
Chocolat making, cheese making, coconut oil, tamales and tortillas, pottery, sculpture and composting. We also offer a combinated waterfall and horseback riding tour through the lovely green hills and the beautiful beach of Pavones. You will be accompanied by a builingual guide. The tour includes a tipical, organic meal and a plenty knowledge about our local flora and fauna and the abonded diversity of wildlife. If required we also could organize pick up from your place for additional costs. For booking please contact us, we will then give u further information and dates.
