🐒 Adopt symbolically Alex & Andrea today and be part of their story.

Alex and Andrea have been at Sibu Wildlife Sanctuary since 2019. Both suffered severe electrical shocks from power lines, resulting in the loss of one limb and part of their tail.

Their injuries made a return to the wild impossible, but they found something special in each other: companionship and a bond built through a shared experience.

Today, they have a safe home at Sibu, where they receive the lifelong care they need. ❤️

Your dedication, hard work, and care for our resident wildlife have been greatly appreciated. We wish you all the best in your next adventure, and thank you for being part of the Sibu team. 🐒

If you’d like to spend a few months making a difference for Costa Rica’s wildlife, we’d love to hear from you. We welcome full-time volunteers for a minimum two-month commitment, with on-site accommodation provided.

Hoy en el Día de la Anexión del Partido de Nicoya y con orgullos de ser guanacastecos celebramos como nuestra fauna silvestre siempre se viste de gala.😍

Desliza 👉 y verás cómo el rojo, azul y blanco no solo están en los trajes folclóricos, sino que son los mismos colores de las lapas rojas en el cielo Guanacasteco.

A huge thank you to Lisa Benamara for volunteering with us here at Sibu Wildlife Sanctuary. 💚

From day one, Lisa showed incredible dedication, compassion, and a genuine love for wildlife. Whether it meant working under the heat, in pouring rain, through the mud, or starting before sunrise, she always gave her best with a smile.

Caring for rescued wildlife isn’t always easy, but Lisa proved that when you’re driven by love and compassion, every challenge is worth it.

Thank you for helping us give our residents the second chance they deserve. Your hard work and kindness have made a lasting impact on both our team and the animals in our care.

Inspiring the next generation of wildlife advocates is at the heart of what we do. 🌿💚  Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting students from casadelasestrellaswaldorf in Garza and .lerning in Arenales.

Through these educational visits, children can have a better understanding of native wildlife, the challenges animals face here in Nosara and how each of us can play a role in protecting them. 
Every year, Sibu Wildlife Sanctuary welcomes students from schools across our community to learn about Nosara’s incredible wildlife, conservation, and the importance of protecting the natural world.  
We are grateful to the teachers, students, and schools who continue to make these experiences possible. Together, we’re helping grow a generation that values and protects nature. 🌎

💚 Some of the best moves happen both on the chessboard and in our community. 
A few days ago, our friends at Pulpo Pelada, Nosara brought people together for a special chess tournament in Pelada to help raise funds for our wildlife sanctuary and our hearts are full. 💙 
Children and adults of all ages shared an afternoon full of strategy, learning, laughter, and friendly competition, all while making a real difference for the wildlife in our care. 
To everyone who joined the tournament, thank you for showing that every move can make a difference. 🙏🏽  Together, we’re proving that a love for chess and a love for wildlife share something beautiful in common: patience, dedication, and the belief that every action matters.♟️

Give Greyson the support he needs. Symbolically adopt him today. Many of you have met this special howler monkey during your visit to Sibu, but his journey here was not an easy one. 🐒

Greyson arrived after being with his mom when she was electrocuted. After an unsuccessful release attempt and several health challenges, including dengue and weakness, he became a permanent resident of our sanctuary.

Today, he is one of the favorite monkeys among our visitors, and his story is a reminder of both the challenges wildlife face and the incredible resilience they can show.

By symbolically adopting Greyson, you help provide the lifelong care he needs and support the work we do to protect Costa Rica’s wildlife. 🙏

When people think of tropical forests, they often picture lush rainforests. But not all tropical forests are the same. 
Here in Nosara, we are fortunate to be surrounded by one of the world’s most unique and threatened ecosystems: the tropical dry forest. Unlike rainforests, these forests experience a long dry season, and the plants and animals that live here have developed remarkable adaptations to survive. 
The tropical dry forest provides essential habitat for wildlife, supports biodiversity, protects soils, and helps maintain healthy ecosystems throughout the region. 
Today, we celebrate the beauty and importance of all tropical forests and shine a spotlight on the incredible dry forest that we are proud to call home. 💚
