The Bomberos de Nosara are the firefighters, lifeguards, and emergency responders who keep Nosara safe. The Bomberos are a non-profit that receives no government assistance, so they depend on the support of the Nosara community to provide those lifesaving services. To ensure the Bomberos have the funding they need, every member of the Nosara community is asked to register for a voluntary monthly E

mergency Services Fee of $60/month, if they can afford it, or another monthly contribution that aligns with their financial capacity. Three years ago today, the Bombero de Nosara launched seven-day-a-week Guardavidas services at two lifeguard stations at Guiones Main Entrance and in Pelada.

The impact of those stations has been dramatic and life-saving, as there has not been a drowning on those beaches since 2021.

As longtime residents will remember, our beaches used to have annual tragedies and lost lives, often multiple times in a year, given Nosara's dangerous and unpredictable currents.

Today, thanks to the Guardavidas, Nosara's beaches are safer than they have ever been.
