Proyecto Asis is an organization dedicated to wildlife protection, environmental education and conservation, and fostering positive cultural exchanges through education and service. It serves as a Wildlife Educational And Volunteer Center. Proyecto Asis strives to give the animals the care and respect that they deserve. It is also committed to providing quality Spanish classes through the Spanish institute, where the student is engaged and immersed in Spanish and Costa Rican culture. Lastly, the volunteer center offers a variety of opportunities for the local communities and foreign participants to work together in order to increase environmental conservation awareness through communication and community service.

Remember this little silky anteater?

After making a wonderful recovery, he’s finally back where he belongs, in the wild! 💚

We don’t know whether this was a tragic accident or an act of animal cruelty, but this little Central American silky anteater (Cyclopes dorsalis) arrived at Proyecto Asís with a deep wound on his leg caused by a machete. 🥺💔

Thanks to the prompt treatment and dedicated care provided by our veterinarian, Dr. Christian González, he has responded incredibly well and is making an excellent recovery.

If everything continues to go as planned, he will soon return to the forest where he belongs. 🌳💚 Every rescued life is another chance for nature to heal.
