t time...were directions from God. Years later, in 2010, John was clearly instructed to build a chapel. Then came fourteen days and fourteen nights of rain. Then....early in the morning, John was awakened by a thunderous sound. A massive landslide from the mountain above had come down, depositing an abundance of trees onto the land. What seemed like destruction became provision. From that wood, the Chapel was built. Completed in 2011, the Chapel was constructed according to the design John believed at that time...God gave him. A chapel facing due east, open in the shape of a great cross—so that the rising sun strikes another cross suspended by chains within it. Distinctive crosses mark the structure. A tower rises above, surrounded by gardens and flowers. Beneath the Chapel lies a special poem known to the builder. Above, on a nearby hill, hangs a great cross—made of cypress wood—its arms bleeding, suspended by chains from a gantry. This work was done alone. Faithfully. Exactly as instructed. Chapel in the Clouds is not a church in the traditional sense. It is a place of reflection, prayer, worship, and encounter—a sacred space for those seeking peace, healing, and closeness with God. Acerca de Chapel in the Clouds

En lo alto de las montañas, rodeada de neblina, bosque y una profunda quietud, Chapel in the Clouds se levanta como un testimonio de fe, obediencia y perseverancia. En febrero del año 2007, a la edad de 62 años, John Howard comenzó a construir este lugar extraordinario—piedra por piedra, paso a paso—guiado por la oración y una confianza profunda en Dios. Años después, en el 2010, John recibió claramente la instrucción de construir una capilla. Sin embargo, en ese momento ya no contaba con madera para hacerlo. Entonces llegaron catorce días y catorce noches de lluvia. Una noche, John fue despertado por un estruendo enorme. Un gran deslizamiento de tierra desde la montaña de arriba había descendido, depositando una gran cantidad de árboles sobre el terreno. Lo que parecía destrucción se convirtió en provisión. Cruces distintivas marcan la estructura. Una torre se eleva sobre ella, rodeada de jardines y flores. Debajo de la Capilla se encuentra un poema especial, conocido únicamente por el constructor. Más arriba, en una colina cercana, cuelga una gran cruz—hecha de madera de ciprés—con los brazos sangrantes, suspendida por cadenas desde una estructura elevada. Esta obra fue realizada en soledad. Con firmeza. Con fidelidad. Exactamente como fue instruido. Chapel in the Clouds no es una iglesia en el sentido tradicional. Es un lugar de reflexión, oración, adoración y encuentro—un espacio sagrado para quienes buscan paz, sanidad y una mayor cercanía con Dios. Todos son bienvenidos aquí.
