The Barra Honda National Park is located in the northwest of Costa Rica.
It is a 2.300 ha area to protect the largest caves area in Costa Rica.
In the park there are 42 caves known and about half of them discovered.
The deepest cave is about 180 mts deep.
For tourists open is just the Caverna Terciopelo. The access is from the top of the mountain through a hole. On a 20mts ladder you come into a natural cathedral with stunning drop stones and ensambles. To mention here are the sala de papaya and the ensamble la familia.
The park is absolutely worth to visit!
