Held by Hope: A Missions Update Amid Conflict and Compassion

December 2025 was a month that began with meaningful ministry before everything suddenly changed. Prior to the border attack on December 8, we were able to carry out planned missions and activities—sharing the Word, building relationships, and serving communities with joy and hope. When the conflict between Cambodia and Thailand broke out, some photos were taken during the war to help document the reality on the ground. Evacuations happened in stages: first to Battambang and Siem Reap, and later to Kampong Thom. Evacuation centers became temporary shelters for families who lost their homes and possessions, though not all stories and images were shared, out of respect and discretion. In these moments, we held tightly to God’s promise: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1, NIV).

As we entered January 2026, ministry continued—though in new forms and with deeper dependence on God. The focus shifted to encouragement, prayer, relief, and pastoral care for displaced families and affected communities. While plans were adjusted, the mission remained alive, trusting that God is still at work even in uncertainty. We were reminded that “the light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it” (John 1:5, NIV), and that our labor in the Lord is never in vain. With faith, compassion, and discernment, we continue moving forward, seeking God’s direction for the days ahead.

Here are some photos from December 2025 and January 2026. They capture moments of challenge and hope, reminding us that even in difficult times, we continue to trust God and move forward together.

MISSIONS QUICK UPDATE | Prayer Needed

Early Tuesday morning around 6:00 AM, I woke up to the sound of multiple shock waves. Bombs shook the roof of the "kampo" where we were staying. The sky was filled with explosions—like continuous thunder, one after another. We prayed and calmly prepared for the worst.

By Wednesday afternoon (December 10, 2025), we made the difficult decision to evacuate from Poipet. Together with local families—women and children included—we traveled about 120–150 km west to find temporary shelter. We left with only a few clothes and our backpacks.

The local families are now staying in one local church, while our team is spread across two different locations due to our numbers. This is now our third day as refugees, yet God continues to supply all our needs. Like the believers in Acts (Acts 2:44–45; 4:32), we are sharing what we have so everyone is cared for.

We have notified our embassy of our location and situation and have had an initial conversation with them. We also went around to assess the condition of fellow refugees—it is heart-breaking to see what many are going through.

Despite everything, We are at peace and unshaken. The God who sent us here will not leave us nor turn His back on us. We are deeply thankful knowing that you are standing with us in prayer.

Thank you for praying. God bless.

Note: We will try to share more photo updates to help guide you as you pray for us.

Cold Breeze, Warm Hearts: Our Latest Update is Here!

Hey everyone! As the November breeze rolls in, we're super excited to share how God keeps opening up amazing opportunities for relationships in the ministry. The changing season has been a great reminder to pause and just be grateful for His faithfulness (even the birds singing outside my window are inspiring!). Take a moment to read our full newsletter—and please keep all our prayer requests in mind, especially for peace at the border and wisdom for our leaders!

A new member thanked God for building a church near his home. According to him, he had been converted before, but since he was the only Christian in his family, he often felt lonely and sometimes thought about giving up his faith. However, after finding the church, he began attending regularly and even brought his children and neighbors along.

This August, our team joyfully celebrated the opening of the Freedom’s Promise campus in Poipet—a vital community hub offering education, healthcare, job training, Bible teaching, and anti-trafficking awareness programs—bringing hope and stability to the heart of the city. The team is currently supporting several ministries and participating in Sunday worship services.

We are deeply inspired by this milestone and invite you to continue praying for and supporting this powerful initiative. Stay tuned for more updates as we walk alongside our Cambodian friends in transformation.

"The Lord is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust." – Psalm 91:2

Dear friends and prayer partners,

We want to share an important update from the Thailand–Cambodia border.
Amidst the ongoing tensions and conflict in our area, we have seen God’s mighty hand of protection over our team and our community here in Poipet. He has kept us safe under His wings despite the uncertainties around us. 🙏

Due to the situation, our Lighthouse Ministry has been temporarily postponed to ensure the safety of those we serve. While this is a difficult pause, we believe that God’s work never stops — His Spirit continues to move even when doors seem closed.

We also want to testify of God’s provision and help. In these challenging days, He has been our Provider, meeting needs in ways we could never imagine and strengthening our faith for what lies ahead.

Please continue to pray for:

Peace between Thailand and Cambodia

Safety and encouragement for our team and local partners

Opportunities to resume ministry as soon as possible

Thank you for standing with us in prayer and support. Together, we are part of God’s mission here in Poipet.
