On 14 August 2026, the Embassy of India, Santiago hosted the National Day Reception to mark the 80th Independence Day of India, bringing together distinguished guests, partners and friends of India in Chile.

On 15 August 2026, the Tricolour rose over Santiago as the Embassy joined members of the Indian community and friends of India in celebrating 80 years of India’s Independence with pride and patriotic fervour.

On 21 August 2026, Shri Naamdeo Ji Maharaj of Vihangam Yoga was warmly received by Ambassador Abhilasha Joshi at the Embassy premises.

During his visit, Shri Naamdeo Ji addressed the Embassy officials and delivered a spiritual and meditation discourse, sharing reflections on inner peace, mindfulness and holistic well-being.

The interaction provided an opportunity to gain insights into the Vihangam Yoga tradition and India’s rich spiritual and philosophical heritage, underscoring their timeless message of peace, harmony and universal well-being.

India’s clean energy transition is gaining real momentum.

With clean energy capacity now at 331.7 GW, India has crossed a significant milestone—surpassing its 302 GW of fossil fuel capacity. Solar power is leading the way, with capacity reaching 211 GW.

This shift is more than a numbers game. It reflects the steady transformation of India’s power system toward a cleaner, greener and more resilient energy future.

A major milestone and a strong signal of what lies ahead.

La transición hacia la energía limpia en la India está cobrando un verdadero impulso.

Con una capacidad de energía limpia que ya alcanza los 331,7 GW, la India ha superado un hito significativo: ha rebasado sus 302 GW de capacidad basada en combustibles fósiles. La energía solar lidera el camino, con una capacidad que alcanza los 211 GW.

Por primera vez, la capacidad de electricidad limpia (338,74 GW) ha superado a la de los combustibles fósiles (301,95 GW).

Eso representa un crecimiento de 12 veces en 25 años.

Se trata de un cambio significativo en el panorama energético de la India, impulsado por la rápida expansión de la energía limpia en los últimos años.

Turmeric from Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh, cultivated in lush, chemical-free soil, is known for its naturally high curcumin content and valued for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Through the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative, India is bringing the distinctive products, traditions and craftsmanship of its districts to a global audience.

Under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet has approved four major railway multitracking projects across West Bengal, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, with an investment of ₹9,450 crore.

🚆 Adding 410 km to the railway network will strengthen connectivity, improve operational efficiency and enhance service reliability.

📦 The projects are expected to add 76 MTPA of freight capacity, reduce logistics costs and support India’s climate goals.

🌱 They will also help save around 13 crore litres of oil imports and reduce CO₂ emissions by approximately 65 crore kg.

A stronger rail network means faster connectivity, lower logistics costs and a more sustainable growth path for India.

Bajo el liderazgo del primer ministro Shri Narendra Modi, el Gabinete de la Unión ha aprobado cuatro importantes proyectos ferroviarios de vías múltiples en Bengala Occidental, Odisha, Tamil Nadu y Andhra Pradesh, con una inversión de ₹9,450 crore.

🚆 La incorporación de 410 km a la red ferroviaria fortalecerá la conectividad, mejorará la eficiencia operativa y aumentará la confiabilidad del servicio.

📦 Se espera que los proyectos aumenten la capacidad de carga en 76 MTPA, reduzcan los costos logísticos y respalden los objetivos climáticos de la India.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange ideas on the celebrations and on promoting greater awareness of Ayurveda and its holistic approach to health and well-being in Chile.
