Is it submersible, rustProof, easy to operate with one hand, releasable with one hand under-load so that if progress is made ascending against the current, force of water pushing a rescue swimmer downstream, turns out to be too great due to exhaustion, the operator can release the progress capture device to allow a bail from the attempt without leaving the device behind, but just letting it fully disengage from the holding power without leaving the rope. Something not designed to fight gravity, but to make progress against the force of water, either as a swimmer or more realistically as a rescuer in a light inflatable surfing upstream using pull power but must be able to release the load easily, intuitively to free run instantly when needed without separating from the rope AND fully releasing from the rope to go home with the rescuer routinely. This device has some engineering that could be used, ???,. Love the rope diameter range down to 5.5mm, this is the range that gives the most distance, range, for personal carry, 80ft. We already use hand ascenders to access in their current form, but they have limitations that dont ideally fit our purpose built dreams. Considering how many rope ascenders are built and marketed yearly world wide, can some one take some time to build a device that allows us to sidestroke upstream against current and not fumble with subtle thumb tricks while hand are numb and can't look at what's happening underwater without a pressurized nasal flush. We operate in a unique environment where releasing the hold on the rope does mean we risk sliding to our death, but rather sliding downstream to catch our breath to rest for another go at it.
