Lausanne, the capital city of the region Vaud
An ancient city with a combination of modern and old buildings, and a diversity of nationalities. From the train station, you can walk up the hill to arrive at the city center or you can take a metro to Ouchy, the lake side of the city. In the city, you can visit Cathedral of Lausanne, an old university which is now a museum, and the public library, or shopping areas. At Ouchy, you can take photos along the boardwalk, visit the Olympic museum, or take a boat to Evian, France.

Saas Grund, a small village in the Valais region, is rich in nature and green lake view. You can take the cable to the top, enjoy the view and visit a dome bar restaurant. This village is situated around 43 mins by car from Zermatt. If you plan to have a long walk through the village or on the mountain and escape from the urban view, this is one of the best spots. 🥰

For us, we bought a voucher from Aldi Switzerland. It included (for 2 people) a one-night stay in an apartment -hotel, dinner (soup, salad, main dish, and dessert), breakfast, and tickets for the cable. The price might be higher now, but check it out on the website. They always have interesting offers.
