BENELUX Think Group
Experienced EPEA members from the Benelux countries recently met in Brussels and set up a working group. This mutual exchange will promote understanding of the diverse framework conditions and structures of education within the different prison systems. In the initial phase, the focus will be on learning from one another and expanding individual networks. To this end, reciprocal visits to prison schools in the three countries or four regions – in Belgium, these are Wallonia and Flanders – will be organised in the near future.
In the medium term, however, the aim is to implement a larger project on a topic yet to be determined, even though human resources are limited, as all work would be carried out on a volunteer basis. Nevertheless, there was a noticeable atmosphere of optimism and great commitment. The EPEA wishes the BENELUX Think Group every success!
