Tours of the Appenzell region for a maximum of four people

The philosophy of Appenzell Tailor-made is to offer groups of a maximum of four people a deeper and more intimate look into the cultural and daily life of the Appenzell region of Switzerland, and to design these tours according to specific interests they might have, such as music, tradition, history, or farm-life. Clients will have an opportunity to talk to musicians, farmers, historians, or artisans in a more private setting than that of a normal, “mass tourism”-type tour.

This past week I did my last two tours of the season (because I’m going to visit family in Florida soon). I so enjoy meeting people like these, who have loads of interesting questions (not all if which I can answer! 😃), and with whom I have enlightening conversations.

Had a fun tour today with two lovely guys! Father and son from Virginia and North Carolina. I took them to the goat cheese dairy in Gonten as well. My first time taking clients there. Mathias Koch makes fabulous goat cheese!

My tour today with a wonderful couple from Tampa, Florida (yay!) was a real joy: Brauchtumsmuseum, Kabierfleisch farm, Jodel (Zeuerli) workshop with Sämi Frick, and a village tour of Appenzell.
