The 2nd Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) Battery, also known as the "Rain of Fire" Battery, participated in a Rocket System Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE) with Philippine Marines and Alpha Btry, 5-3 LRFB, 1MDTF of the United States Army to learn more about the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) capability under the leadership of CPT MARLON M AQUINO (ART), PA Acting Battery Commander held at Headquarters, Army Artillery Regiment, Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija.
The four-day training covered both lectures and hands-on training. The said training discussed subjects such as HIMARS Overview Brief, Reconnaissance, Selection, and Occupation of Position (RSOP) and Operations Area Selection (OPAREAS), Introduction to In Position Ready to Fire (IPRTF), FDC, Fire Mission Processing: HIMARS Crew Drills and HIMARS Preventive Maintenance Check and Services (PMCS). Participants were able to experience hands-on training on HIMARS, FDC vehicle, and Loading/Unloading of Pod on Resupply Vehicle and had the opportunity to drive FDC vehicle and Resupply vehicle.
This collaborative activity is a good opportunity for our personnel to increase their knowledge and gain experience with this kind of equipment which is essential to enhance their skills to perform a certain task.
