Rescinding the Pause on all New 8(a) Screening Information Requests (SIR)s and Awards

Effective on June 1, 2026, the FAA is rescinding the pause on the issuing of Screening Information Requests (SIR) and awards under Acquisition management System (AMS) Policy 3.6.1.4 and 3.6.1.5 (originally issued via Policy Alerts on January 16, 2026, and April 6, 2026). Contracting Officers may resume utilization of these authorities for SEDB 8(a) noncompetitive and set-aside procurements. For all other actions, Contracting Officers must resume the documentation and acquisition strategy considerations set forth in the AMS with respect to SEDB 8(a) considerations. The AMS Policy and Guidance for utilizing these authorities remains unchanged.

This notice only applies to SEDB 8(a) authorities and does not affect SIRs or awards made under SDVOSB, HUBZone, WOSB, or EDWOSB authorities.
