Update: May 31, 2026

The fire ban for the City of Yorkton has been lifted.

πŸ”₯ Open Air Fire Safety Reminder πŸ”₯

Enjoy your backyard fire pit safely this season by following a few simple precautions:

βœ… Only burn clean, dry wood.
βœ… Keep a water source, hose, or fire extinguisher nearby.
βœ… Never leave a fire unattended.
βœ… Keep children and pets a safe distance from the fire.
βœ… Avoid having a fire during windy conditions, as sparks can travel and start unwanted fires.
βœ… Ensure the fire is completely extinguished before leaving the area or going indoors. Stir the ashes, add water, and check for any remaining heat.

Remember, even a small fire can spread quickly if not properly monitored.

Let's work together to keep our community safe and prevent unnecessary fires this summer.

πŸš’ If a fire gets out of control, call 9-1-1 immediately.
