There are several reasons many people are now choosing small, simple weddings. Some couples want to avoid the stress and hard work of planning a traditional, more formal wedding, for some it's the expense of a larger wedding, others are planning a destination wedding later and want to do the legal part here where it's less complicated. Whatever your reasons for choosing small and simple I can help. I offer my home and back yard as a venue at no additional cost to you. I have an archway with a choice of decorations and I can even provide a small portable PA system, if needed. In my ten years as a Justice of the Peace I have been fortunate enough to travel to most of the towns and villages in our end of the province. Pictured here is the Shelburne County village of Jordan Bay. The venue is the community wharf. Included in the wedding script was a Fisherman's Knot Ceremony which nicely tied together the Groom's occupation and the location.
I'm a firm believer in your wedding, your way. I'm open to unusual and unique venues, theme weddings and the many add ons and little touches which can help your wedding better reflect who you are as individuals and as a couple.

If you are planning a wedding with 10 or fewer guests I can help simplify your planning. For small weddings I offer my home or back yard as a venue at no additional cost to you along with a small PA system we can use during the ceremony. My home is always available and in the warmer months my backyard is an attractive, no cost venue with gardens and an archway. I can even offer a choice of fabric and flowers to add to the archway or you are free to add your own decorations. For some people, when it comes to their wedding, simple and straight forward are best. For others, a wedding should be carefully planned and say something about who the Bride and Groom are as individuals and as a couple. I'm a strong believer in your wedding your way. There may be a holiday, a season or a theme which are particularly meaningful to you. Your wedding script can also be modified in many ways to say something unique about you. With the exception of three mandatory phrases, the possiblities are almost endless. The music and even the venue are also important choices.

For smaller weddings, I offer my home or back yard as a venue at no extra cost. This has become a popular option for couples as there seems to be a trend towards smaller weddings these days. I have had seven weddings at my home this year and the first outdoor wedding was last week. I also offer an archway and decorations or you can opt to decorate yourself. I can also help by providing a portable PA system and advise on finding musicians or singers, available venues or customizing your wedding script when needed. Big wedding or small, I'd love to talk to you about your special day.
