Proposed By-Law ⚖️

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Town of Woodstock intends to consider proposed By-Law No. 609, A By-Law Respecting Waste Collection and Disposal Within the Town of Woodstock.

Any person wishing to inspect the proposed by-law may do so by appointment at Woodstock Town Hall, 244 Connell Street, NB during regular office hours of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday to Friday except holidays. You may also view the by-law on the Town’s website at https://woodstocknb.ca/bylaws-policies

The deadline for submitting written objections/support to the Town Clerk shall be 12:00 p.m. on the date of the last reading, Tuesday, October 13th, 2026. Written objections/support may by mailed or delivered to Town Hall or e-mailed to the Clerk: [email protected]

📌First reading: Tuesday, September 8th
📌Second reading: Tuesday, September 22nd
📌Third, and final reading: Tuesday, October 13th

Garbage Bins Delivering Soon!

Attention Woodstock Residents! J.S. Bellis will be delivering your new wheeled bins the week of September 14th and 21st!

In the meantime, continue to use your current garbage bins, until you receive your new wheeled bin.

🚛Please remember that the new collection schedule is now in effect. On weeks when both regular garbage and recycling are collected, there may be a gap between each pick up. This is because separate trucks will be used for garbage and recycling collections.

Voyent Alert Colour Chart 🚨

Have you opened up your Voyent Alert app and wondered what each colour means? Here’s a quick guide on how we decide what colour to assign an alert:

📕Red Alert: This is a critical alert, meaning that emergency action must take place, this can be for a variety of reasons: police operations, wildfires, flooding, severe weather warnings or hazardous material leaks.

📙Orange: These alerts notify residents on all health and safety concerns. These may not require any action but aims to inform important information to those impacted. These can be for: road closures, boil orders, power outages, air quality notices or wildlife advisories.

📒Yellow: These notices act as reminders, issued by the Regional Service Commission. Your weekly notices on garbage pick up, or other regional notices will be yellow!

📗Green: All general council updates, meetings or other town notices will be issued with a green banner. These are purely informational, keeping you up to date!

📘Blue: These alerts are to keep you involved in the recreation and events happening around Town!

Depending on your subscribed topics, you may only see select colours – remember you can change your subscription preferences any time, right in the app!

The Town of Woodstock advises residents that a portion of Broadway Street will be temporarily closed while Public Works crews clear away downed trees and debris as a result of recent high winds.

🚗Traffic Impact:

Back to School Traffic 🚦

Back to school means more traffic, more pedestrians, and more little ones on the move!

Residents are advised to be aware of traffic changes as children head back to school next week.

As students head back to school, safe driving is everyone’s responsibility.
🚗 Slow down in school zones and residential areas
🛑 Stop for crossing pedestrians and school buses
👀 Stay alert for children walking, biking, on skateboards, scooters and crossing.
⏰Give yourself extra time—a few extra minutes can make all the difference

Whether you’re driving, walking, cycling, or dropping the kids off, let’s make safety the priority. Woodstock Police will be around to make sure we are all doing our part!

REMINDER: Lewis P. Fisher Lane has a right-turn only during periods of drop-off and pick-up. Please be aware of the times on the traffic sign. A moment of inconvenience may save you from an accident and the cars behind you from a long wait.
