Children's Aid Society of Oxford County is proud to partner with Healthy Cart Woodstock for Shakes for a Cause! 💜
Every shake purchased helps make a difference. For every shake sold, $1 is donated to CAS Oxford, supporting children, youth, and families in our community.

A certified car seat technician will check your child’s car seat installation and help ensure it is properly installed in your vehicle.

Are you looking to help support children, youth and families in our community?
YOU can be the difference for a child or youth in need by opening your home as a foster caregiver. Foster caregivers provide supportive care to children and youth who, for a variety of reasons, cannot live safely at home. Foster caregivers are needed for infants, toddlers, teens, children with special needs and sibling groups.

💜 You don't have to navigate motherhood alone.

If you've experienced interpersonal trauma, including intimate partner violence, and have a child under the age of four, Mothers in Mind offers a safe, supportive space to connect, heal, and strengthen your relationship with your little one.
This fall, Mothers in Mind is partnering with Wellkin and the Family Violence Counselling Program of Oxford County to offer FREE Fall 2026 sessions.

Together, we'll explore:
✨ Building stronger connections with your child through play
✨ Recognizing and building on your parenting strengths
✨ Practicing self-care and self-compassion
✨ Responding to your child's needs with confidence in a supportive, welcoming environment

What's included?

📚 Children's storybooks to take home
🚗 Transportation support
🗣️ Interpretation services, if needed

Did you see us in the Woodstock Ingersoll Echo back in June? We appreciate the help in spreading the word about the need for foster caregivers as part of our mission: "Together with our community, we help children, youth, and families be safe, strong, and connected".
From the article:
"The recruitment of foster caregivers within the Oxford County community is important because it helps children and youth remain connected to the people, places and relationships that are meaningful to them. When children and youth are placed within their community, they are more likely to maintain these important relationships and routines. Remaining connected to their schools, peers, cultural traditions, sports teams, faith and communities can significantly reduce the trauma and disruption often experienced when coming into care." - Jaclyn Fekete, Child Protection Worker.

Being THERE TO CARE means being an important support that helps keep kids and youth connected during challenging times.

FOSTER CAREGIVERS provide temporary care when it is not possible for children and youth to remain with their primary caregivers, and kin or alternate care placements are not available. In most situations, children and youth placed in foster care are reunified with their primary caregivers, families, and communities.

THERE TO CARE is community conversation about both the need for foster caregivers as well as what it means to get involved. Jaclyn has been out and about across Oxford County having this conversation with groups and individuals, and encouraging us to consider what it could mean to be 'There to Care' for local families who are needing support.
In asking foster caregivers what it means to them to be 'There to Care', some responses:
"I foster to provide stability, care, and opportunity."
"We foster to help keep kids connected to their community and culture."

We are pleased to share that Fred Freeman is the recipient of this year's Jack Ross Memorial Award!
Since 1985, each year we have invited nominations from our community for an individual who has made outstanding contributions to children, youth, and families in Oxford County, in memory of the late Constable Jack Ross.
This year's recipient exemplifies what it means to serve others with humility, compassion, and unwavering dedication. Through decades of volunteerism, community leadership, and public service, Fred has made a lasting impact on the lives of children, youth, and families across Oxford County.
From his years of service on the Children's Aid Society of Oxford County Board of Directors to his leadership in municipal government, Rotary, Big Brothers, and countless community initiatives, Fred has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to building a stronger, more connected community. His leadership has helped create opportunities for young people, strengthened organizations, and inspired others to give back.
Today, we are honoured to recognize Fred with the Jack Ross Memorial Award.
