Today we honour and remember all Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people.

We carry them with us, -in our work, in our prayers, and in the way we show up for community every single day. This is not just a day of awareness for us, it’s a reminder of why we do what we do: to protect, to support, and to stand alongside our relatives.

We honour the lives that were taken, the families still searching, and the strength of our people who continue to push for justice.

We will keep showing up.
We will keep speaking their names.
We will not forget.

What a beautiful day to celebrate our 2nd year anniversary for our Community Care Team! We are so grateful to everyone who walked with us - volunteers, drummers, partner organizations, and everyone else who worked behind the scenes to make the day such a wonderful success. From sharing songs, round dancing, feasting, to simply spending time together in community, we couldn’t be more grateful to everyone for bringing their heart, dedication, and commitment to making our city a kinder place for all.

Miigwech Argyle High School for the hearty sandwiches, Oshki-Giizhig for the bagged lunches, portage Place for the extra sandwiches, and to Linking Hopefor the 120+ care packages for our relatives!

Thank you as well to Goaskauntieca Bear Clan Patrol Inc, Sabu's Cubs and Downtown Community Safety Partnership Winnipeg for being there to make this day extra special, it wouldn't have been the same without you!

We'd also like to send a special shout-out to Kerry from Giant Tiger Regent Ave for the hot dogs, burgers, and buns for our community BBQ at the end of the walk!

Today, on International Women’s Day, we want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate the incredible women who are part of the N’Dinawemak family.

Every day, the women on our team show what true leadership, compassion, and strength look like. They are advocates, protectors, mentors, and caregivers who bring dignity, patience, and heart into the work we do with our relatives. Whether they are working overnight shifts, supporting people through crisis, preparing meals, coordinating services, or simply offering a listening ear…

Their dedication helps create the safe, welcoming, and respectful space that N’Dinawemak strives to be. They remind us daily that community care is built on empathy, resilience, and love.

To all the women on our team: thank you for the knowledge you share, the strength you carry, and the care you show to our relatives and to each other. We are incredibly grateful to work alongside you.
