The Rehabilitation Centre for Children (RCC) provides services to children living with disabilities.

The Rehabilitation Centre for Children (RCC) supports children and youth in Manitoba and surrounding areas in achieving their goals and participating in their communities. RCC provides services to children with physical and developmental challenges. Children from birth to eighteen (twenty-one if still in school) are eligible for services from the Centre. RCC receives its funding from the Winnipeg

Regional Health Authority (WRHA), Manitoba Health, the Department of Families, a number of Manitoba School Divisions, and the Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation. Together, with children, youth, families and our partners, we promote excellence in children’s rehabilitation and developmental pediatrics through innovative clinical service, education, research and technologies. Our vision is to give children and youth who receive services from the Rehabilitation Centre for Children the opportunity to reach their full potential. And for all families and caregivers to have easy access to the knowledge, services and resources that they need to support their children in discovering this potential.

Staff at the Rehabilitation Centre for Children wore red in recognition of and International Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Day.

To further raise awareness, the Manitoba FASD Network is hosting an information table with resources, snacks, and prizes, encouraging conversations about FASD, promoting healthy pregnancies, and highlighting supports available for individuals and families affected by the disorder.

⛵ Help keep adapted sailing accessible for children and youth.

Each summer, Independent Living Resource Centre Able Sail partners with the LIFE Program's Sun and Fun Summer Camp to provide safe, inclusive sailing experiences for campers. With specialized non-tippable, non-sinkable boats and dock-mounted lifting equipment, campers can experience the joy of being on the water.

Programs like this are only possible because of community support. Your donation helps ensure children and youth can continue to access these life-changing recreational opportunities year after year.

What an exciting day at the Rehabilitation Centre for Children as we officially opened the Smart Suite!

the Smart Suite offers families an interactive opportunity to explore home technologies and adaptive tools that can make everyday living more accessible for children and youth with disabilities. Created through generous support of The Moffat Family Fund at Winnipeg Foundation, donors of Children's Rehabilitation Foundation, and Rehabilitation Centre for Children, the new Smart Suite demonstrates practical solutions to improve independence and participation at home.

The study is for children aged 5–12 years with autism and focuses on teaching safe responses to potentially unsafe household items (e.g., medicine) using an evidence-based training approach. Sessions take place in the home with caregiver involvement. Participation involves multiple short sessions over several weeks, and families receive Amazon e-gift card.

🐴 We're thrilled to once again for the LIFE Program's partnership with Stable Connections to provide a unique half-day adaptive horse camp experience for children this summer at the!

We've had the pleasure of partnering with Stable Connections for five years, and we've seen firsthand the positive impact their team has on the Sun & Fun campers and families we serve.

This half-day fun horse camp offers participants meaningful and inclusive recreation and the opportunity to build confidence, develop new skills, connect with others, and enjoy the many benefits of spending time with horses in a safe and supportive environment.

Did you know Stable Connections offers year-round programs for children, youth, and adults? Their multidisciplinary team provides Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy, adaptive/ therapeutic riding, riding lessons, camps, and inclusive recreation programs for children, youth and adults.

FASD Outdoor Wellness Group 🌳

Facilitated by Momenta Inc. in collaboration with the Manitoba FASD Family Network and generously funded through the Children's Rehabilitation Foundation, This program is designed for youth aged 13-17 who are diagnosed with FASD, are on the waitlist for assessment, or currently being assessed. Outdoor Wellness Group promotes wellness, life skills, mental and physical health through nature-based activities, art, and social-emotional learning.

Location: 984 Portage Ave
Dates: One Tuesday/month from September - May
Time: 6:30 to 8:30 pm

Please dress to spend part of the session outdoors.
