Relational Child and Youth Care Practice (RCYCP) invites your submissions.
RCYCP is committed to providing equitable and inclusive spaces that promote and support the profession of Child and Youth Care through disseminating the knowledge and experience of individuals involved in the day-to-day lives of young people, families and communities. This commitment is founded upon the belief that all human issues are essentially “relational”.

We welcome papers of original research and practice, case studies and literature reviews on all aspects relating to young people, families and communities. This might include topics such as cultural values, ethics, social policy, program design, supervision, education, training, advocacy, social justice and reconciliation practices within the diverse spaces and places of relational Child and Youth Care.

RCYCP may include academic peer reviewed contributions, stories, case studies, thought pieces, experiential descriptions, and other forms of writing not appropriate for peer review. In this way we aim to strike a balance between the values of peer reviewed writing and experiential voices from practice. This is a unique approach and one which we feel is the most inclusive of all voices in the field of Child and Youth Care. Peer Review is available on request.

Submissions should be sent to [email protected]

“Being who you are should never be a crime.”

On Sunday’s International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, UN Secretary-General António Guterres highlighted the significant progress made over recent decades in advancing equal rights for LGBTIQ+ people, yet warned:

“Around the world, we see concerted efforts to roll back these human rights — restricting freedom of expression and peaceful assembly, stoking hate, targeting human rights defenders, and cutting funding for essential services.”

He stressed the UN’s commitment to stand with all members of the human family, without discrimination of any kind, and called on everyone to uphold safety, dignity and equality for all.
