ed by it. Domestic Violence does not only affect the individuals directly involved, but also the family and community as a whole. We are here to help empower women to value and live in a manner that fosters healthy relationships and mutual respect and provide our support and guidance in navigating the complex road that accompanies Domestic Violence. Our plan through our services is to reduce the number of women and children that have to go through the horrifying experience of abuse and violence, assist those who already have, to rebuild a healthy satisfying life and promote more assistance from the public and government agencies on the prevention of Domestic Violence. We do this with our experience, education, wisdom, compassion and courage needed as a leader & our commitment to continue doing this with our incredible & contagious passion and drive to make a positive difference in people’s lives. Vision:
Butterfly Project has a great vision of being able to bring about awareness with the public and within the community so that they may be able to assist and/or understand what an individual going through an abusive situation is dealing with without any stigma as many of the women and children of an abuser are often treated as outcasts and held responsible for the abusers actions. Our hope also is that by educating women and girls on what an abusive relationship looks like, the early signs of an abuser and the effects on children who witness violence, it will provide motivation and strength for these women to leave their abusive relationship or seek help or never get into one to begin with; as well as how to deal with the after affects and re-build a better life. We also hope to bring awareness within men and boys about abuse, where it stems from and the drastic effects it can have on everyone. Hopefully this can help to create more positive thought patterns. As well, teaching both the males and females about low self-esteem and self-worth and how to strengthen these because this tends to be the precursor to both becoming an abuser or a victim of abuse. Therefore, one person at a time, we can help to change the outcome of an abusive situation into a positive one and to help prevent the number of abusive relationships that develop as well as bring awareness to those who are ready to change in positive ways and inform the public on a subject that is horrific and almost epidemic. Our goal is to also inform and educate the many agencies and departments directly related, on domestic violence and the different dynamics so as to create more positive outcomes in these situations. Our support and knowledge will teach one to trust their intuition and inner guidance which provide meaning, purpose and direction in their lives. Our Butterfly Project program and fund will help women and their children to have a better start and chance at a great future. The butterfly metamorphosis and all its stages is the symbol for what we hope to accomplish with these women. In the end we hope to turn frail women into the strong, beautiful women they truly are; like a butterfly, spreading her wings to fly freely and show off her uniqueness, beauty and value!
