🌷 International Women’s Day

Today we recognize the strength, resilience, and leadership of women in our communities and around the world.

From mothers and daughters to educators, advocates, caregivers, and community organizers, women continue to play a vital role in building compassionate and resilient communities.

At the Islamic Social Services Association (ISSA), we are grateful for the women who lead, support, and uplift others through their work, knowledge, and care. Their contributions help shape safer, more inclusive spaces for families, youth, and future generations.

International Women’s Day is also a reminder of the importance of continuing to support women’s wellbeing, leadership, and opportunities in every part of society.

Today we celebrate the women who inspire change, strengthen our communities, and guide the next generation forward.

✨ Happy International Women’s Day

Last week was the National Day of Remembrance and Action Against Islamophobia, observed each year in Canada on the anniversary of the 2017 Quebec City mosque attack. It’s a moment to remember lives lost to hate and reflect on our shared role in standing against Islamophobia.

Wishing You Happy New Year
Dear Friends & Supporters of ISSA: Peace be with you.
On behalf of ISSA Board and staff, our heartfelt appreciation for your continued support, encouragement, and participation.
Thank you for your trust!
Your support made it possible for many to access counselling and mental health supports for vicarious trauma, grief, and discrimination. Including Family conflict resolution through mediation.
Thank you for your generosity!
With practical assistance such as temporary financial support, housing help, and systems navigation. It also allowed us to continue delivering our anti-racism workshops and youth trainings, creating spaces for learning, dialogue, and leadership that strengthen understanding and foster belonging within diverse communities.
Thank you for walking alongside us on the path to anti racism, justice and allyship. We were able to bring the First National Indigenous-Muslim Solidarity Conference to Winnipeg, 200 people attended from across Canada and United States.
We pray for a world where fear gives way to understanding, where human dignity is safe, and where our leaders act with courage, humility, and conscience.
As we enter 2026, we do so amid a global rise in hate, violence, and racism, realities that weigh heavily on many in Canada. In moments like these, the work of care, dialogue, and solidarity becomes even more urgent.
ISSA remains committed to stand up against hatred in all its forms, and to nurturing services rooted in compassion, justice, and shared humanity.
From all of us at the Islamic Social Services Association,
we wish you and your loved ones a peaceful, healthy, and prosperous year.
