POP ART!! Our students in Art class learned about the Pop Art movement of the 1950s. Each student chose an item from popular culture to represent as a sculpture.
They designed and built their own armatures from old cardboard, covered them with plaster of paris and then pained them with bright engaging colours! The results turned out so fun and whimsical and were able to be displayed at our volunteer tea.

We were honoured to welcome four incredible guest readers this week.

Her Honour Anita Neville shared two beautiful poems from I Hope You Remember, speaking with warmth and authenticity that truly resonated with our learners.

Leah Gazan shared personal stories from her life, reminding us that lived experience matters and that our stories can create change.

Lorelei Bunkowsky read What Feelings Do at Night, showing how picture books create a safe, equal space for all readers.

Brent Epp shared excerpts from Children Like Us and Finding Otipemisiwak, reminding us that growth and identity work are lifelong processes.

We offer a heartfelt thank you to all of this week’s guests for inspiring our students and celebrating literacy with us.
