… and we are back for the season! You will find shortly, seed packets for our “Share a Seed to Grow a Community” initiative as part of our LFL #5593. We share these seeds for free with hopes that you will share in kindness as well. What does that mean? It means … if you have seeds you can share, leave some also for others while taking only what you need from ours. When your harvest is ready and you have extra, we hope that you will also be able to share some of your bounty in our sharing station located at our library for others who may be in need in our Neighbourhood. We have been doing this for several years now and have been very happy to see the generosity of many neighbours ❤️. A part of our initiative as well is growing seedlings that we will also put out to share once they are ready. The secondary photo is just some of the vegatables that we will be growing this year to share with the community. We look forward to another season of giving and hope you will do the same 🥰

Harvest is slowly starting to come up and we have some out. Please only take what you need and if you have extra harvest to share, we ask that you leave some behind to help pay it forward to others. We will continue to restock as we come to the end of the season. I also have Kale but will only cut some if someone wants any to avoid spoilage. Just DM us if you need some.

Hello Neigbours! With the late start to the season, we finally have a batch of seedlings ready to go. More forthcoming but not fully ready yet. Today we have a variety of cucumbers and Daikon (Japanese Radish). Though it will be difficult to monitor, we ask that people ONLY take a of max of 2 seedlings so plants can be shared accordingly. We will have tomatoes, Habaneros and beans coming up as well. Happy planting!!

Well our lovely neighbours, we will have some goodies again this year to share as harvest becomes ready! Pick up a book and pick up little things to spice up your recipe from our garden. Tomatoes, hot peppers, cucumbers, eggplants, and various herbs. We ask that IF you’d like to share some of your bounty this year, we encourage you and you can leave them behind in our sharing station!

If there are folks out there who have no use for pennies you've collected, we sure could use them at the LFL and Garden Wishing Well. Someone decided to permanently borrow our Gnomes pennies 😄

Did you know? There is a cherry tree that grows in front of the LFL and Garden. It's a Juliet Cherry Tree which will produce sour type cherries during the season free for the picking when ready. Beautiful dark red fruit that is excellent for fresh eating, cooking, baking and making jams and jellies.

**PLEASE EXERCISE SHARING IS CARING - TRY TO LIMIT YOUR TAKE TO A MAX OF 3 SEEDINGS, NOT 10 EACH OR 10 PER PERSON WITHIN ONE HOUSEHOLD (THINK OF COVID RESTRICTIONS AND HOW THEY WORK 😅). We would like for everyone to have a chance at getting some. Thank you for your understanding.

Hello Lovely Humans! Our baby seedlings are ready and soon it will be time for them to go so that they can flourish in one's garden. We will be putting them out over the course of the week (weather permitting of course) and they will come in nightly.

I just have to say the community of North Kildonan has blown me away as little did I know how much of an impact our LFL and Garden has in this beautiful neighborhood. The outpouring of generosity and support has touched my heart deeply. Thank you to each and every one of you who has reached out to offer to help refill the basket of goodies that taken from the LFL. We have managed to replenish it and will continue to do so when I have a moment. That to say, the incident has NOT deterred me from continuing to give and share - so as the weather remains to warm up and planting comes into season, I will be again putting out seeds and seedlings to share! Here is just a sneak peak of what I will have to offer you beautiful humans! As always, I ask is just for you to do the same - share what you can, be kind to one another and also try to pay it forward when you are able. With Love ~ Maria and Family
