Did you know ๐ค on September 11, Ethiopians and Eritreans celebrate the New Year according to the Ethiopian calendar. The celebration is known as Enkutatash in Amharic and Awde Amet in Tigrinya.
The Ethiopian calendar, known as the Ge'ez calendar follows a unique 13-month system. It is approximately 7โ8 years behind the Gregorian calendar, and Meskerem 1, 2019 begins on September 11, 2026. ๐๏ธ
