This morning on Saturday September 30th, 2023. On the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation and on my cousin’s birthday. My family and I went to vote 🗳️ in the advance voting location down my street. As someone who ran for public office at the local and national level within a years time I know how much effort all the local candidates have or had invested their time and energy. I really do agree whether you vote or not try your best to be engaged. To the next government in power I will hold them all accountable the next time I run in the municipal election in 2026. Wait for me!

Happy New Years!!! 2022 was one of the best honour of my entire life. Even thou I didn’t meet the standard I was hoping for this time around. 2023 here I come… the new year will be a year of building my name throughout the entire city. So more citizens can get to know more about me and what I stand for and believe in!

Happy Halloween Winnipeg, wanted to end the election month with a fun self photo of me being an adorable minion. Thank you the 451 citizens who voted 🗳 for me during this municipal election. I didn’t finish as 💪 strong 💪 as I hope with 3000 votes or had that 60% (aka 80% voter turnout). I hope I set another standard for future politicians that I hope will challenge the status quo and the apathy in the civic process in our city 🌃 🌆 🏙.

This past Saturday I was at St. John’s Park for the North End Community Renewal Corporation Picnic in the Park Event. At the same time as the No Stone Unturned Concert happened in the North End of Winnipeg. Did you know that St. John’s Park is also known as the . Whenever I think of conversations about the harms I do as a citizen of the land I think about St. John’s Park. And what I can do to support & invest in important meeting places & green spaces in the city of Winnipeg I think about the healing forest in the North End.

The greatest adventure that any mayoral candidate could do in a local election season is to engage citizens of Winnipeg at the door of their neighbours. I had the opportunity to take a break and realize how impactful it is to gather signatures on this adventure. Which I have done in the past. This to me is “made from what’s real” on the Saturday August 6th! I have 183 legible signatures out of 250 which is the requirement to get my name on the ballot. The exciting news is at the pace I have been going I know that I will be on that ballot on October 26th, 2022!

Today and the entire week the biggest and most stimulating dialogues I’ve seen so far in the election has been about governance review. Prior to the most recent review about governance that happened within city hall between 2019-2021. The last time we had a review on governance was done wayback in 1998 prior to when Glen Murray was first elected. It was done by one of the best and well known consultants in the municipal sector and his name is George Cuff. The short name of that governance review was called the Cuff Report. Which essentially got rid of the board of commissioners and formed the most current iteration of what happens within the city when there is a lack of in essence leadership on Council. Take a sneak peek at my vision of what I would do within city hall when I get elected on October 26th, 2022. I will be releasing my full plan on August 1st do watch out for it.
