🤝 Working Together for Our Community

Town Council recently met with AMM Interlake District Representative Delmer Nott to connect, share updates, and discuss matters that are important to the Town of Winnipeg Beach and our community.

These conversations provide an opportunity to raise local concerns, discuss municipal priorities, and work together on issues that affect our residents and the future of our community.

Council appreciates the opportunity to meet with representatives of the Association of Manitoba Municipalities and looks forward to continuing to build strong relationships and advocate for Winnipeg Beach.

The Town of Winnipeg Beach is deeply saddened by the tragic collision near our community that claimed four lives.

On behalf of Council, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and loved ones who are grieving this devastating loss. Our thoughts are also with everyone in our community affected by this tragedy.

As a sign of respect and to honour those who lost their lives, the Town flag will be lowered to half-mast for one week.

During this difficult time, we stand together as a community and keep those affected in our thoughts.

Our deepest condolences to all those grieving.

A friendly reminder regarding brush and yard debris

The Town of Winnipeg Beach has noticed an increasing number of instances where residents undertake larger brush-clearing projects on their properties and leave the resulting piles for our Public Works department to remove.

While we appreciate residents taking the initiative to maintain their properties, brush generated from private property maintenance is the responsibility of the property owner and must be transported to the landfill by the resident.

Please do not leave large brush piles in lanes, roadways, or other areas with the expectation that Public Works will remove them.

Landfill passes are available at the Town Office for residents who need to dispose of brush and other eligible materials.

We appreciate everyone's cooperation and continued efforts to help keep Winnipeg Beach clean, safe, and beautiful. Thank you for your patience and understanding as our Public Works team continues working throughout the Town.

Temporary Road Closure – River Avenue & PTH 9

The Town of Winnipeg Beach would like to advise residents, businesses, and visitors that the intersection of River Avenue and PTH 9 will be temporarily closed on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The temporary closure is required to facilitate much-needed road repairs and resurfacing work in the area. The work is intended to improve the condition, safety, and long-term durability of the roadway for residents and visitors.

Motorists are asked to plan accordingly, allow additional travel time, and use alternate routes where possible while the work is underway. Please observe all posted signage and follow directions provided by workers on site.

The Town of Winnipeg Beach appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation as this important infrastructure work is completed. We apologize for any inconvenience the temporary closure may cause and thank you for your understanding as we work to improve our local roads.

FALL CLEAN-UP

The Town will be conducting its annual Fall Clean-Up collection from September 8 through September 11, 2026.

Residents may place acceptable items for collection, including building refuse, non-bulky waste, domestic waste, debris, and general rubbish.

Please note the following guidelines:

• Items must not exceed 1 meter (3.28 feet) in any direction

• Items must not weigh more than 40 pounds (18.14 kilograms)

Residents are asked to ensure materials are properly prepared and placed for collection in accordance with these requirements.

This Saturday, September 5th, 2026 from 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM, we’re bringing everyone together at the Town of Winnipeg Beach Bandstand for the LAST FREE CONCERT of the Town of Winnipeg Beach Bandstand Concert Series!

And what better way to close out an incredible summer than with one of the Interlake’s favorite bands SOUL SEED!

Bring your friends, bring the family, bring your dancing shoes, and get ready for an unforgettable evening filled with great music, good vibes, dancing, laughter, and plenty of summer memories.

SCHOOL ZONES ARE BACK IN EFFECT SEPTEMBER 1

With students heading back to school, drivers are reminded that Manitoba school zone speed limits come back into effect on September 1.

Slow down to 30 km/h in designated school zones.
Watch carefully for children walking, biking, or crossing the street.
Be prepared to stop at crosswalks and pedestrian crossings.
Stay focused and avoid distractions behind the wheel.
Use extra caution around schools, buses, and busy drop-off and pick-up areas.

Children can be unpredictable, and school areas will be busy again. A few extra seconds of caution can make a big difference.

Please slow down, stay alert, and help keep our students safe as they return to school.
