🌟 Youth making a real impact in Winkler!

Sixteen Grade 7 students from Winkler Elementary School chose Central Station Community Centre as their Youth in Philanthropy project this year — and they showed up in a big way.

🍪 They hosted a bake sale that raised $466.80 to support Central Station’s programs.

💚 Then they rolled up their sleeves and volunteered onsite, decorating cookies for a St. Patrick’s Day–themed Café 545 community meal.

"It means everything to us, How do we ensure that this next generation knows what's going on in our community and sees all sides of what is going on? For us to be able to witness these kids come in and put their philanthropy in action here at Central Station, that's just everything." -Krista Rempel, Social Impact Director at Central Station

A community grant to Big Brothers Big Sisters helped fuel the GROW Youth Program, a space where girls build confidence, develop leadership skills, and learn what it means to live a balanced, healthy life.

💬 “What a fantastic, special time for the girls — one that has left a positive lasting effect on our daughter. Thank you BBBSPV!”
— Parent of a 10‑year‑old participant

We love seeing programs that lift up youth and strengthen our community.

In 2025, STARS received a grant from the Thomas Sill Fund with the Winkler Community Foundation.

This grant was used towards the purchase of a ventilator. The HAMILTON-T1 Ventilator is used to provide respiratory support for critically ill and injured
patients during transport – a crucial part of a patient’s care.

Access to this crucial device allows STARS’ crew to focus on providing other necessary, life-saving care to the patient while their breathing is being managed
in a simplified, user-friendly way.

The Winkler Community Foundation is proud to support STARS.

Pembina Valley Pregnancy Care Centre received a community grant from the Winkler Community Foundation for their Give & Take baby supply closet.

"Having adequate storage is a huge asset in providing care and support to our clients. We have one conversation room where most of our client connections take place, and we had a wonderful storage unit in there already. But we have a larger meeting room where we can connect with families, if people come with an interpreter or support person, or when kids need a bit more room to wiggle and play. This is the room that received a huge transformation in 2025 with funds received from the Winkler Community Foundation! Having storage, and therefore items accessible, in both client rooms means we don’t have to interrupt a client session to provide baby items for another client." -PVPCC
