It was a very humbling experience to make myself vulnerable. The amount of community support my wife and I have received over the last month has been unexpected but we are so appreciative. THANK YOU EVERYONE.

I ran on a platform of high academic standards and community values. To have the most votes speaks volumes to those priorities. I am looking forward to learning with my fellow trustees and serving the GVSD.

I got some confusing looks at the forum after I said that we can do much better academically as a division. Other nominees said things along the lines of "We are at provincial average". So let's take broader view. As a province we are last in Mathemics, last in Science and second last in Reading. If you look into this data further, you will see that we have been declining in all 3 categories since 2000. This is not a pretty statistic and it has to be addressed.

I am hoping that with my experience in meeting high academic standards, post secondary education and time on the scholarship committee will help in GVSD meeting higher academic standards.

I 100% agree with this. Your right as a parent to parent your child should never be replaced by the school. This is how schools maintain trust with the community.

School boards’ primary focus are improving student achievement and I quote form the MBSBA Handbook: “they are in regular and meaningful contact with the communities they serve.” This is what I will work hard for to do if elected as GVSD school board trustee.

I love this quote, which came from a conversation I had and is from a dear friend. ❤️

This is my biggest "why".

I am so thankful for my family. I work hard to create an atmosphere where they can all reach their full potential. This is the reason I am running for School Board Trustee.
