Ready Set Go

Ready Set Go Join us with our neighbors and community partners in downtown Windsor to strengthen and celebrate families with children aged birth to six.

Vision: Inspire families to take responsibility for raising their children, strengthening families and celebrating community. Mandate: Our community development mandate has residents sharing responsibility for raising children, strengthening their families and celebrating a vision of a child-centered community. History: We began in 1996 when Casino Windsor came to the downtown core (now Caesars

Windsor). During this time, a coalition of parents and community agencies came together wanting to celebrate the children in the community and to provide a safe space for them to gather and grow.

What does Spatial Awareness have to do with learning…

Most people have a hard time knowing and understanding why Spatial Awareness is connected to a child’s learning development.

Spatial Awareness can help a child with:

👍Problem solving
👍Math problems (sequencing)
👍Reading and language development
👍Personal space and boundaries with other children

There are many signs that may show a child hasn’t fully developed their spatial awareness and may need additional activities to support his area of learning.

To get a list of recommended activities and to play a game we’ve put together to help spatial awareness, comment “SPACE” and we’ll send you the link.

Comment “ORGANIZE” for our Executive Function activity list to help kids with activities that can support a child’s executive function development for better organization.

One of the most common challenges in the classroom is development of a child’s executive function. Kids who struggle with executive function have a hard time staying organized and on task.

If you have a child or students who haven’t fully developed their executive function skills, you may find the following:

🤯Incomplete or missing assignments
🤯Difficulty planning and completing projects
🤯Trouble staying focused during lessons
🤯Struggles with reading comprehension
🤯Can’t organize thoughts on paper when writing

Many of these higher learning skills come automatically to the child if executive function is fully developed in the brain. When there are disruptions in the brain, the child has trouble with goal-oriented tasks.

For the list of activities and to learn more about how to help kids with Executive Function, comment “ORGANIZE” and we’ll send you the link.
