We look forward to being a part of the Windsor Food Festival at Riverside Festival Plaza TONIGHT through Sunday (Friday, Sept. 4th - Sunday, Sept. 6th). The Mission will be there sharing about the work we do.

YOU will truly be missed Mike McCallum!!!

We at the Downtown Mission are heartbroken to share the unbearable news of the tragic passing of one of our dear friends Mike (Mic) McCallum 😢

Mike was part of the Mission’s Team as our Development Officer for a short time (Fall 2023 - Spring 2024) but in that short time, he connected with his coworkers, learned the stories of the clients he was working to help and engaged with our public to increase advocacy for those the Mission serves and support for the work the Mission does! He did an amazing job while at the Mission increasing the reach and impact of our annual Coldest Night of the Year Event which he helped bring to the next level by increasing Volunteer and Community Engagement 🙌

Even after he left the Mission for other opportunities, he stayed connected with us and we are so thankful for his time, energy and compassion he continued to gift us and our community with beyond his time with the Mission! He especially enjoyed and we greatly appreciated, his efforts in advocating for the work done at and by our The Windsor Youth Centre Team which he made sure was made known to all with the support of the wonderful Punk Rock Flea Market Windsor which he was so integral in making happen each year 🙏🏽

Thank YOU Mike for all the wonderful memories we will forever cherish!!! You will be missed greatly but all those who knew you and loved you will do our very best to keep your memory and spirit alive in all we do.

God bless you and keep you Mike as you leave this world and enter your new eternal home. We wish you peace as you look down and see us continuing the work you were a part of! We also wish your family, friends and loved ones comfort during this very difficult time as they say goodbye and hope the joyful memories of you and your bright light will keep shining for them always ❤️

We are truly blessed at the Downtown Mission to have our incredible Shelter Health Windsor Team here onsite Monday-Friday each month as they are at each of our local Shelter Partners here in Windsor - The Salvation Army Windsor Centre of Hope, Welcome Centre Shelter for Women and Families and the Housing and Homelessness Help Hub (H4)!

A HUGE thank YOU to our incredible friends from CoralConnection Cuba for raising enough money through a collaboration with Domino's Pizza to provide a delicious Pizza Dinner for 100+ individuals at the Mission this past Tuesday.

Thank YOU friends for doing all you could to help feed our unhoused Guests and for providing them with this delicious treat on a hot Summer night!

This Thankful Thursday, we're ESPECIALLY grateful for our incredible friends from The Home Depot who stepped up in a major way this past week to help our The Windsor Youth Centre Team put up a new fence in their backyard.

Without the kindness and generosity of individuals and companies like the Team Members of Home Depot and the local Company itself, we wouldn't be able to provide food, shelter and hope to our community's most vulnerable young people, so THANK YOU friends!!!

Due to financial challenges, we have made the difficult decision to close our Social Enterprise; Mission Promotional Products. We would like to thank supporters and staff that have worked at MPP, formerly Chari-Tees. We will be selling off the stock at discounted prices until Thursday September 24th.

Please consider helping our amazing Team at The Windsor Youth Centre out with any gently used plates and/or utensils. If you have any, please feel free to drop off to them at 1247 Wyandotte St E (between 4 pm and 9 pm Monday through Saturday) or contact them directly to make other arrangements.
