It is with profound sadness that we mourn the passing of Dr. Paul Ziter, recipient of the 2025 MCC Champion Award.

For more than 45 years, Dr. Ziter dedicated his life to caring for the Windsor-Essex community as a family physician, while leaving an enduring mark on healthcare through his leadership, education, and advocacy. He served as Chief of Family Medicine at Hôtel-Dieu Hospital and Chair of the Essex County District Health Council, helping advance healthcare reform and the Ontario Breast Screening Program.

Beyond medicine, Dr. Ziter was a passionate community leader whose generosity supported countless charitable organizations, including the Rotary Club of Windsor and the Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation.

Dr. Ziter's compassion, leadership, and unwavering commitment to serving others leave behind a remarkable legacy. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and all whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
