Our friends at Stone & Sky invite the community to come together for a special week of art, storytelling and connection on Pelee Island.

Taking place September 14–20 as part of Flutter Fest 2026, this arts-based reconciliation celebration will bring Indigenous and non-Indigenous artists together to share ancestral stories and land-based practices through workshops, performances, art installations and cultural exchange.

Today is World Duchenne Awareness Day—a time to raise awareness of Duchenne muscular dystrophy and recognize the children, youth and families living with this progressive neuromuscular condition.

September 7 was chosen because the DMD gene is made up of 79 sections called exons—with the date 7/9 representing those 79 exons.

At JMCC, we are committed to supporting children and youth of all abilities, helping them participate more fully in the activities and experiences that matter most to them. 💚

🥧 What an incredible night at the Harrow Fair!

Tonight’s Brad & Joanne Stannard Memorial Pie Auction raised an amazing $108,100 for the John McGivney Children’s Centre! 💙

We are so extremely grateful to the Stannard family, the Harrow Fair, the Colchester South and Harrow Agricultural Society, the many volunteers, pie makers, bidders, auctioneers, and everyone who helped make this special event happen, especially after the severe weather forced last night’s auction to be postponed and the entire event had to be reorganized for tonight.

The amount of work, care and commitment that goes into this auction year after year is truly remarkable. Thank you for continuing to support the children, youth and families of JMCC in such an extraordinary way.

🥧 The Harrow Fair Memorial Pie Auction has been rescheduled for tonight at 5 p.m.!

Although yesterday’s auction had to be cancelled because of the bad weather, we’re grateful this special tradition can still take place.

Please join us at this evening, bid on a delicious homemade pie and help support children and youth with disabilities and special needs at JMCC.
