Solid Waste Collection Notice

Due to mechanical issues, GFL is not able to complete curbside waste collection for the following:

AREA 1 - Recycling
AREA 2 - Garbage / Bulky

If your waste is not collected today, please have it curbside by 7am tomorrow morning (September 15th). If you have any questions about waste collection, please contact GFL dispatch at 902-468-9111.

Windsor Garlic Fest is almost here!

For those joining us, please refer to the parking map for designated public parking areas throughout downtown Windsor.

Windsor Garlic Fest is a free, family-friendly and accessible event. We sincerely appreciate the support of R & D Dunham’s for making its parking lot at 30 King Street available for accessible parking and accessible washrooms.

Be sure to check out the attached schedule and plan your day.

The sun will shine, the garlic will be fresh, and the vibe will be fantastic!

We look forward to welcoming you to downtown Windsor for a full day of food, music, fun and, of course, all things garlic!

A reminder that the GFL West Hants Landfill public drop off area will be closed for renovations, starting Monday, September 14 to Wednesday, September 30. For safety reasons, residents will not be able to haul their waste to the landfill during this time.

The Household Hazardous Waste section of the landfill will remain open to the public.

🚧 GFL West Hants Landfill Public Drop-Off Area Temporary Closure Notice 🚧

Please be advised that the GFL West Hants Landfill public drop-off area will be closed from September 14 to September 30, 2026, for renovations and facility improvements. The Household Hazardous Waste drop-off area will remain open.

Residents are encouraged to plan ahead, as there will be no alternative disposal options available at the site during this closure period.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY - STREET CLOSURE - Windsor Garlic Fest

Gerrish Street, from Victoria Street to Water Street, and Gray Street to Stannus Street, will be closed to vehicle traffic only beginning at 6:00 am. Streets will reopen at 6:00 pm.

PLEASE ENSURE ALL VEHICLES ARE OFF GERRISH STREET BY 6:00 AM!
