Why It Is Helpful to Eat More Vegetables and How To Do It
Many people with chronic kidney disease (CKD) worry about vegetables—especially potassium rich ones. But here’s the good news: most people with CKD can and should enjoy vegetables regularly, with portion guidance based on their stage of CKD and lab values. Vegetables are one of the most powerful tools for improving kidney health and blood pressure, supporting digestion, reducing inflammation, and helping you feel energized. We’ll walk through why vegetables are so important, plus provide easy, kidney-friendly ways to add more to your meals.

In Loving Memory of Tina Gobbo

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Tina Gobbo — a kind, dedicated, and generous soul who made a lasting impact on our kidney community.

Tina’s involvement spanned many years, beginning at the Festival Epicure water booth and growing into leadership roles on the Artilicious, Celebrity Men, and Chapter Advisory Committees. She generously shared her expertise, built meaningful connections in the culinary world, and played a key role in securing models, restaurants, and donations.

She was always ready to lend a hand — from set-up to being one of the last to leave — and gave her time as a one-to-one peer support volunteer, offering comfort to many.

Tina’s warmth, commitment, and spirit will never be forgotten. ❤️

Rest in peace, Tina.

Laughter for CKD Wellness: Building Resilience Through Joy
Laughter is more than a spontaneous reaction, it can be a powerful tool for emotional wellbeing and resilience, especially when living with chronic kidney disease.
In this uplifting webinar, Sylvie Dagenais-Douville, certified Laughter Yoga Master-Trainer, explores how intentional laughter and Laughter Yoga can gently support stress reduction, ease anxiety, and improve mood. And hear from people with lived experience how laughter has supported their emotional wellbeing and resilience while living with CKD.
Participants will learn how laughter activates the body’s natural feel-good responses, helping build resilience and emotional balance during challenging times.
No yoga experience or physical effort is required, just an openness to breathe, smile, and rediscover the joy and healing potential of laughter.
