On June 13, 2026, between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., the Cariboo Regional District, Quesnel Search and Rescue, and the RCMP will be conducting a mock evacuation notification exercise on Heaton Road and Blackslock Road in the Bouchie Lake Area.

There will be increased emergency vehicle presence or activity in the area, but there is no danger to the public.
As part of the exercise, a limited number of residences may receive a notification and information package. This is for training purposes only. Personnel will be clearly identified and will not be asking for, or collecting, any personal information.

The Evacuation Alert issued on June 2, 2026 at 3:30 p.m. for the Swede Creek Fire Area has been lifted.

An Evacuation Alert or Order may need to be reissued if that is deemed necessary.

A heads-up for anyone travelling through Tl'etinqox on June 9: you may see first responders and emergency vehicles participating in an Emergency Preparedness Exercise.

This is a planned training event to help agencies practice emergency response and coordination. If you notice emergency activity in the area, please be aware that it is part of the exercise and there is no immediate risk to the public.

Wondering what the day will look like? The morning includes a planned emergency exercise across EOC, ICP, and ESS.

Community members are welcome to observe and learn. At 1:00 PM, everyone is invited to gather for lunch.

The Community Safety Fair runs from 1:15–3:30 PM with local and regional agencies, interactive displays, home and family preparedness information, and prizes.
