📢Heads up, library visitors!

Exciting improvements are underway at the Williams Lake Library.

As part of ongoing renovations, the library's outdoor space will be temporarily unavailable while we wait for a new door to be installed. Once the door arrives and installation is complete, the outdoor area will reopen for everyone to enjoy.
This is just the beginning - additional renovation work is planned for this fall as the library continues to receive upgrades that will improve the space for visitors and staff alike.

The library remains open and all regular library services continue as usual. 📚

Thank you for your patience as these improvements are completed. We'll share an update as soon as the outdoor space is ready to reopen

Two weeks until our next No Pressure Book Club meeting on June 25, 2026 at 6pm.

In recognition of National Indigenous Peoples’ Day on June 21, we are exploring Indigenous voices in print – stories rooted in lived experience, cultural knowledge, and deep connections to land, language, and community. From contemporary fiction and memoir to traditional storytelling and poetry, there is no shortage of talented Indigenous authors and creators to choose from.

New to book club? You’re especially welcome! There’s no sign-up, no homework, and no pressure. Just drop in, bring your thoughts—or simply your curiosity—and enjoy connecting with fellow book lovers.

With Summer Reading Club (SRC) registration stating today, welcome to our SRC Week 1 display in the Children's section (see below)! The Week 1 sub-theme is "Sunshine Zone". It is all about the light that keeps all beings on the earth (including those under the sea" ) alive. This light can be actual sunlight or just strength and inspiration and all the items on this display reflect one or the other or both. There are also free colouring and activity sheets to take in addition to a bonus popsicle stick craft cutout as well. And remember, all library items are free to borrow with your library card.

Hip Hip Hooray, it is time once again for the Summer Reading Club (SRC) at the Williams Lake Library! This year's theme is "Under the Sea" (sea below, ha ha ha) and is now for kids age 0 to 14! Registration begins on June 9th. where kids will get a reading record and opportunity to sign up for weekly sessions that start on July 8th. with our SRC Coordinator. There will also be weekly contests to enter and stickers to add to your record for every week of reading. After 7 weeks of reading, when kids have finished their reading record, kids will receive a medal and certificate of completion. This annual literacy initiative is made possible by the BC Library Association and happens in all the public libraries in our province. Looking forward, once again, to another year of summer reading fun!
