๐Ÿงก National Day for Truth & Reconciliation | Orange Shirt Day 2026

The Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation invites families, community members, organizations and neighbouring communities to join us for an evening of remembering, learning, sharing and connection.

๐Ÿ•“ 4:00โ€“7:00 p.m.
๐Ÿ“ Cape Croker Park โ€“ 112 Park Road, Neyaashiinigmiing

The evening will include a Reconciliation Walk, cultural sharing, language and storytelling, sweetgrass friendship braiding, traditional arts and crafts, activities for children and families, food and refreshments, and more.

Orange shirts will be available to purchase onsite, and local crafters and artists have been invited to share their handmade items.

๐Ÿงก Honouring Survivors, Intergenerational Survivors, and those who did not return.

Bring your lawn chairs and stay awhile. Children must be accompanied and supervised by a caregiver, and we kindly ask that pets be left at home.

The Chippewas of Nawash Fisheries Assessment Program is inviting community members to attend two upcoming Lake Whitefish workshops being held as part of an international conference focused on Lake Whitefish restoration and aquaculture.

Attendance is free for Nawash Band members, with transportation and meals provided.

Nawash Band members are invited to register for bus transportation to attend the Treaty 72 Land Claim Appeal Hearing in Toronto on Friday, October 2, 2026.

๐Ÿ“ Departure: Band Office
โฐ Bus leaves: 6:00 a.m.
๐Ÿ  Approximate return: 10:00 p.m.

A bagged lunch will be provided on the bus.

Please note that parking at the Band Office is limited. Where possible, attendees are asked to arrange to be dropped off before departure.

Space on the bus is limited and registration is required.
