Opening day for the Fieldgate Sports Complex is almost here, and there's plenty for the local soccer community to be excited about.

We're looking for volunteer league leaders to help bring our 55+ Pickleball, Badminton, Ball Hockey and Soccer leagues to life this fall.

As a league leader, you'll help create a fun, welcoming experience for participants by supporting game organization, attendance and day-to-day league activities.

It's a great way to stay connected, support active living and help fellow residents enjoy the sports they love.

🚲🛴 Kids are heading back to school and road safety is on our minds! How well do you know Whitby's rules for e-scooter and e-bike use?

Here's what you need to know to help keep everyone safe on our roads, trails and multi-use paths:
✔️ Minimum age: 16 years old
✔️ Helmets: Required for all e-bike riders and e-scooter riders under 18
✔️ Maximum speed:
🔹 20 km/h on multi-use paths and trails
🔹 24 km/h for e-scooters on roads
🔹 32 km/h for e-bikes on roads

✔️ Where you can ride:
🔹 Town roads, bike facilities, multi-use paths and paved trails
🔹 No riding on sidewalks
🔹 E-scooters are only permitted on roads with posted speed limits of 50 km/h or less

Service Disruption – The Anne Ottenbrite pool at the Iroquois Park Sports Centre (IPSC), located at 500 Victoria St. W., will be closed on Tuesday, September 8, for scheduled maintenance.

All aquatic programs and activities will be cancelled, and the pool will not be accessible.

Regular programming will resume on Wednesday, September 9.

📣 The Brooklin Community Centre and Library will undergo annual maintenance on September 8 to 11 (inclusive) 📣

🔵 Community Centre
• Select drop-in recreation programs will continue during the annual maintenance. See the link for a list.
• Residents will be notified of any changes to pre-scheduled programs
• Regular evening rentals will continue as scheduled

🔵 55+ Active Living Fair
• The Community Centre will reopen select spaces on September 10 for the 55+ Active Living Fair

🔵 Library
• The Brooklin Library branch will remain open during maintenance

🔵 Programs
• Registered programs resume September 12
