Respect OUR Homes
As labour action continues across Ontario’s developmental services sector, the Council of Community Living Ontario recognizes the right of workers to advocate for fair wages and better working conditions.
At the same time, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities have the right to feel safe, respected, and at peace where they live.
Group homes are homes first. We ask that the privacy, dignity, and safety of the people who live there be respected.

The developmental services sector needs your support now more than ever. Participation House Project – Durham Region (PH) proudly attended Community Living Ontario’s (CLO) Day at the Legislature on Wednesday, May 06, 2026.

At Queen’s Park, PH joined individuals, families, and Community Living organizations from across Ontario to raise awareness of the barriers faced by people with intellectual disabilities and to advocate for meaningful change.

Big congratulations to Deanna, we are so proud of you!

This past weekend, Deanna traveled to Belleville to compete in the Roll for Impact Boccia Classic, an incredible tournament that raises funds to support children, youth, and families with access to specialized programs and services.

And what a performance it was!

Deanna won her first two games and advanced all the way to the finals, where she earned a silver medal. Even more impressive, she competed against the current reigning provincial champion. In the qualifying rounds, Deanna actually beat him, and the two faced off again in the finals. He later shared that he had to use his national-level strategy to secure the win!

A huge shoutout to Jill for supporting Deanna throughout the tournament and sharing these lovely pictures.

Most importantly, it was amazing to see Deanna’s pure joy, determination, and sportsmanship shine through. Moments like these truly highlight the power of community, inclusion, and opportunity.

Please join us in congratulating Deanna on this incredible achievement!
