Construction of below-market employee housing in Whistler is underway at a scale and pace not seen since the development of the Cheakamus Crossing neighbourhood ahead of the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, marking another major step forward for rental housing for Whistler’s workers and families.

With 200+ new employee rental homes expected to be delivered between this summer and late 2027, now is an ideal time to join the WHA Rental Waitlist. This is especially the case for:

WHA Owners should receive their 2026 Property Assessment Notice this month. If you have not already gotten yours, you can see it on the BC Assessment website. 🏘️This does not reflect a property's current Maximum Resale Price if the owner were to sell their home today. 🏘️

The WHA collaborates with BC Assessment to provide them with the Maximum Resale Price for all of the price-restricted properties in the employee housing inventory, effective July 1st. This information is factored into BC Assessment's property evaluation. Owners can connect with us if they have any questions about their home, or with BC Assessment to learn more about their assessment notice.
