Exciting news for September 24!!!

WCS will hold its Open house on Thursday September 24th. We will Open our doors to families to come visit the school and to meet the educators that get to work with your child or children every day at school, this will take place from 9:30am to 10:15am.

This will be followed by our Terry Fox walk, 10:15 am to 11:15 am where families are welcome to join us as we walk the track in the Gully.
Terry Fox Pledge sheets are going home with your child/children. They should be returned with or without pledge money on or before September 24. They can be given to your child's classroom teacher.

We are looking forward to seeing you there! Reach out if you have any questions.

Nurture Every Student Together

📌Instructional time begins at 8:05 - please arrive on time. If your child is late or absent, please notify the school

📌Please return all registration forms and media release as soon as possible

📌Students should bring a refillable water bottle and Phys Ed sneakers

📌Due to changes in the breakfast program, the school does not provide any snacks for recess. Snacks need to be provided by families.

Please make sure your child has appropriate **sneakers/running shoes** for Physical Education class. Safe, comfortable footwear helps everyone participate and have fun!

💧Water Bottles

Please remember to send your child to school each day with a reusable water bottle filled with water. To help ensure that bottles are returned to the right student, please make sure your child’s name is clearly labelled on their water bottle.

Staying hydrated helps our students stay happy, healthy, and ready to learn throughout the school day!

We’re happy to share that our province-wide Breakfast Program has been going well! 💙

It has been wonderful to see our students enjoying the breakfast options provided each morning. We’re so pleased to be able to offer students a nutritious start to their day and help make sure they have the energy they need for learning and growing. 🍎🥛

A big thank you to everyone who helps make the program possible! We look forward to continuing to provide our students with breakfast options they enjoy. 😊

💗 **Pink Shirt Day at WCS!** 💗

Our NEST was filled with so much pink today! It was wonderful to see students and staff coming together to celebrate kindness, inclusion, and standing up for one another.

Our students also worked together to create a beautiful **Kindness Tree**, sharing positive messages and thoughtful acts of kindness. 🌸🌳

What a wonderful reminder that even the smallest act of kindness can make a big difference! 💕

Breakfast Program
In line with the rest of the province, our Breakfast Program will now be offered every two weeks. The program is free of charge, and students will be offered a pre-set selection of breakfast items.

Beginning September 8th, breakfast will be available in the Cafeteria from 7:45 to 8:05 a.m.

Please note:
There is no need to pre-order breakfast.
Breakfast options will be limited to the items provided through the new regional breakfast program.
Breakfast/Recess items will no longer be available at recess.
We are excited to offer this program to our students and look forward to getting it underway!

🌟 Tomorrow is the big day! 🌟

The Pre-Primary Educators at WCS are so excited to welcome your littles tomorrow morning! 🥰

Our learning environments are all ready for them, with intentional activities thoughtfully planned around their interests, curiosity, and love of learning. 🧸🎨📚

This will be their special space for the next 10 months—a place to play, explore, learn, make friends, build confidence, and create lots of wonderful memories. ❤️

We can’t wait to see all their little faces tomorrow and begin this exciting journey together! 🍎✨
