A BIG thank you to the G. Murray & Edna Forbes Foundation Fund, held at the Saskatchewan Community Foundation, for their generous support of our In School Mentoring Program in Regina, Moose Jaw, and Weyburn!

This support helps mentors show up for youth in ways that truly matter. One of our Mentoring Coordinators shared that a mentee who was graduating Grade 8 this year, mentioned that his mentor really helped him prepare for high school and how it is different from elementary school, sharing that there are so many more sports and activities he can try!

Thank you for helping us support youth as they navigate the transitions of different life seasons with the support of a mentoring relationship.

Meet our , Mentor Jackie and Mentee Taya! If they had to describe their match in three words, they chose: "kind, fun, trust." And their team name? "Cat Girls, because we both love cats"

Jackie shared that "Taya's superpower would be determination! She is incredibly committed when she sets her mind on something and gives it her all!"

There have been plenty of laughs along the way, too. Jackie shared one of their favourite moments: "We had some giggles in the car ride home from watching Frozen at the Globe Theatre, belting out 'Let it Go'. Also at a Red Sox game after Taya got Slyder (mascot) to sign her shoe, she asked if it would wash off and I said, "nope, those are your Slyder shoes now!"

And what are they looking forward to next? "Going fishing"

It’s natural to want to make a difference as a mentor, but mentorship doesn't require you to have solutions or change someone’s life overnight. What matters is your commitment to building a meaningful relationship and being an encouragement.

As a mentor, you’re there to have fun and help your mentee recognize their own strengths and potential. By consistently showing up and being someone they can count on, you can make a lasting impact.
