Here are a couple of photos from the federal funding announcement last evening for the new Accessible Parking Lot at Westville’s Acadia Park. The Town of Westville hosted the funding announcement with Central Nova Member of Parliament Sean Fraser who delivered the news of the federal funding that will create a new entrance to the Town of Westville’s Acadia Park and its Splash Pad and that will feature handicapped parking and access. The brief announcement was delivered at the proposed site, located off South Main and nearby by the Splash Pad. The Accessible Parking Lot will make it possible for all children, regardless of mobility challenges, to enter and enjoy the Splash Pad."
Featured in the photos are:
1st Photo ... Central Nova MP Sean Fraser, Westville Mayor Lennie White, and Westville resident Heather Facey

2nd Photo ... Deputy Mayor Clarrie MacKinnnon, Councillor Meghan Bragg, MP Sean Fraser, Councillor Mitchell MacGregor, Mayor Lennie White
Mayor Lennie White acknowledged the leadership role and the dedicated fundraising efforts of the Rotary Club of Westville in having Acadia Park built in 1997 to commemorate Canada’s 150th birthday, and in 2017 overseeing the construction of Acadia Park’s Splash Pad to commemorate the park’s 20th anniversary. Upon completion, Acadia Park and the Slash Pad were both turned over to the Town of Westville to operate and maintain. Mayor Lennie White noted,
"The splash pad has been a well received and well used facility since it's opening a few years ago. So today I also want to pay special thanks to the Rotary Club of Westville for having the vision for this wonderful addition to Acadia Park and spearheading the campaign to raise the funds to make it a reality. I want to offer the thanks of the Town of Westville to Heather Facey, and her late husband Chuck, for donating the land to the Town specifically for the purpose of creating Accessible Parking to the splash pad and park, and the thanks of the many kids and their families who have enjoyed the pad since its opening.”
