Pathways Serious Mental Illness Society

Pathways Serious Mental Illness Society Families helping families caring for loved ones with serious mental illness. linktr.ee/Pathways_SMIS For us, "family" is an inclusive word.

We are families of loved ones living with a serious mental illness helping other families with this shared experience. We're a volunteer-driven and membership-based family support organization doing ambitious work. When we use it, we're typically referring to a parent, grandparent, sibling, friend or partner. But you're family to us if you're caring for and supporting a loved one with a serious me

ntal illness. The serious mental illnesses of our loved ones include anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, concurrent disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, schizoaffective disorder and schizophrenia. Our society was born organically out of a need among families caring for a relative with a serious mental illness for support, education, information, resources and advocacy that formal channels have not provided. We've been helping hundreds of families for nearly four decades. Our core programs and services are based on a peer support model. All the programs and services we offer such as one-on-one support, peer support groups, skills-building workshops and our signature Family-to-Family educational program, are delivered by trained Family Peer Support Volunteers. Family Peer Support Volunteers all have lived experience of caring and supporting a loved one with a serious mental illness.

National Indigenous Peoples Day

Today we celebrate the rich heritage, diverse cultures, and incredible contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples across Canada.

On the summer solstice, this day is a time to honour the enduring presence, strength, and knowledge of Indigenous communities, past, present, and future.

Take action by joining community celebrations and cultural experiences on the lands where we are privileged to live, work, and play.

Listen, learn, and show respect.

Happy Father’s Day!

Today, we honour and recognize the fathers and father figures who show up every day for their children living with serious mental illness.

Your strength, patience, compassion, and unwavering commitment do not go unnoticed. Through the challenges and the victories, you stand beside your children with love, resilience, and hope—and that makes an incredible difference.

At Pathways Serious Mental Illness Society, we see you. We celebrate you. And we thank you for being such a vital part of your children’s journeys toward wellness and recovery
