A great day at the BC Chamber of Commerce AGM & Conference in Fort St. John!

Congratulations to Laura Thurnheer on being elected Chair of the BC Chamber of Commerce. We are proud to have Laura as a member of the Greater Westside Board of Trade and are excited to see her take on this important leadership role representing businesses across British Columbia. 🎉

Today's conference also featured insightful sessions with political commentators Keith Baldrey and Vaughn Palmer, who shared their perspectives on the current political and economic landscape.

The day concluded with an address from Hon. Ravi Kahlon, Minister of Jobs and Economic Growth, highlighting key priorities and opportunities affecting businesses and communities throughout the province.

It was a day filled with valuable discussions, advocacy, and leadership as chambers and boards of trade from across B.C. came together to strengthen the voice of business.

🎉 Advocacy in Action!

Today at the BC Chamber of Commerce AGM & Conference in Fort St. John, our policy resolution, "What Price Safety Has on Business? How Can Businesses Afford to Keep Their Doors Open?", was adopted by the membership with over 95% support.

Presented by Executive Director Heather Robinson, the resolution highlights the growing impact of crime and rising safety costs on businesses across British Columbia and calls for meaningful action to support safer, more resilient business communities.

This overwhelming support demonstrates that chambers and boards of trade from across the province recognize the challenges businesses are facing and the need for solutions that protect both public safety and economic vitality.

Thank you to our chamber colleagues from across B.C. for supporting this important policy and helping amplify the voice of business.
