Lindsay O’Neil & Associates Trauma and Psychotherapy

Lindsay O’Neil & Associates Trauma and Psychotherapy Lindsay is trained as a trauma therapist w/ the Integrative Trauma & Attachment Treatment Model.

Although we can't take away the experience, we can definitely change the way the experience impacts us! We offer elements of a variety of evidence-based counseling services, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, EMDR, and acceptance and commitment therapy. Our model also incorporates mindfulness, somatic work, grounding activities, drawing, and meditation. The goal

of trauma therapy is to integrate the thinking brain with the emotional brain in order to move beyond our traumas in a healthier, productive way.

Monday reset 🌿✨

Before the week pulls you in every direction, take one minute for yourself.

Inhale for 4. Hold for 4. Exhale for 4. Hold for 4.

Repeat 4 times and notice what shifts.

Save this for the moments you need to come back to yourself. 🤍

Trauma healing is about more than talking through what happened.

Trauma can affect how we connect with others, how safe we feel in relationships, and how our nervous system responds to stress long after difficult experiences have ended.

The Integrative Trauma and Attachment Treatment Model (ITATM™) recognizes the important connection between trauma, attachment, and emotional regulation. By addressing these areas together, healing can occur at a deeper, more lasting level.

Understanding the root causes of emotional pain can help create meaningful change and support healthier relationships, greater self-awareness, and improved well-being. If you’re looking for support on your healing journey, we’re here to help. 📧[email protected]

You don’t have to wait until you’re completely drained to rest.

Many of us push through exhaustion, stress, anxiety, and overwhelm until we’re running on empty. But rest isn’t something you earn after burnout—it’s something you need before you get there.

Think of yourself like a battery. Recharge when you’re running low, not when you’re already in the red.

💜 Rest is productive.
💜 Taking a break is healthy.
💜 Caring for yourself is not selfish.

What is one small thing you can do today to recharge?

Trauma treatment often requires more than understanding what happened.

Many people can identify their triggers, recognize patterns, and understand where their struggles began. Yet they may still feel overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or stuck.

That’s because trauma isn’t only stored in thoughts and memories. It can also be held in the nervous system, emotions, body sensations, and relationship patterns.

Healing isn’t just about knowing what happened. It’s about helping your mind and body learn that you’re safe now.

💜 Healing often requires safety, regulation, connection, and compassionate support.

You don’t have to carry it alone.

June is Men’s Mental Health Month. 💙

Men experience anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, stress, and emotional pain too. Yet many are taught to stay silent, push through, or “man up” instead of reaching out for support.

This month, let’s challenge that narrative.

Checking in with the men in our lives, creating space for honest conversations, and reminding them that seeking help is a sign of strength can make a meaningful difference.

You don’t have to carry everything alone.

If you’re struggling, support is available.

Nervous system regulation isn’t one-size-fits-all. 💜

Different moments call for different kinds of support.

Sometimes your body needs movement or rest.
Sometimes your mind needs slowing down.
Sometimes your emotions need compassion and space.
And sometimes healing happens through connection with others.

The key is learning what support your nervous system needs in the moment.

🌲 The Healing Power of Forest Bathing 🌿

In our busy, always-connected world, spending time in nature can be a powerful act of self-care.

Forest bathing, or Shinrin-yoku, is the practice of mindfully immersing yourself in a natural environment. It’s not about hiking a certain distance or exercising—it’s about slowing down and engaging your senses.

Research suggests that spending time in nature may:
✨ Reduce stress and anxiety
✨ Lower blood pressure and heart rate
✨ Improve mood and emotional well-being
✨ Increase feelings of calm and connection
✨ Support better sleep and overall mental health

The next time you’re feeling overwhelmed, consider taking a walk among the trees. Notice the sounds, scents, textures, and sights around you. Nature has a remarkable way of helping us reconnect with ourselves.

What’s your favorite place to unwind in nature? 🌳💚

✨ Small habits can make a big difference in how your nervous system responds to daily stress.

Supporting your nervous system doesn’t require a complete life overhaul. Often, healing begins with simple, consistent moments of care throughout the day—pausing to breathe, slowing down, spending time in nature, and creating space for rest.

Remember: progress isn’t about perfection. It’s about gently returning to the practices that help you feel grounded, safe, and connected.

💜 Which of these habits do you already practice?
