Many residents have been asking if I am running for reelection to Wasaga Beach council in the Oct. 2026 election. The answer is yes, I am running for one of the five councillor positions and I registered on May 1st 10:30 AM.
Quite a number of residents have asked me why I do not run for Deputy Mayor or Mayor and there are two major reasons why this is not even a remote consideration. Firstly our current Mayor and Deputy Mayor are excellent. Their leadership along with an outstanding senior staff and a cohesive council have delivered unprecedented achievements for our community. Secondly I want my entire focus to be on Wasaga Beach, supporting organizations and businesses that enhance the lives of our residents. County work is important but my heart is with my Wasaga Beach!!!
You might have noticed that a number of the current council have not started campaigning despite the fact that other new candidates seeking election are. The reason is that because all seven members of our current council are seeking reelection so there is no lame duck period and we are busy working on moving our town forward!
